To say that Cleveland goes a little nuts over sports might be the understatement of the century. With the football team snagging a certain "Johnny" and the return of a hometown hero/heartbreaker "King" and the addition of "Love"...well, the city is just buzzing with what the new seasons hold for us.
It is a fact that Cleveland LOVES it's sports teams and are some of the most loyal and tailgate-loving fans you will ever find!! What do Clevelanders like to eat when they tailgate? Well, it's pretty much anything goes, but hot wings are on the top of most fans lists! With the football pre-season games well under way, college football just around the corner, and basketball season coming up soon...there is going to be plenty of tailgating and home-gating parties to host and to attend in the upcoming months!
I love wings, but I don't love preparing them at home. Just not my thing. (Maybe one day!) These wings are great for any party I might want to bring them to or serve them at.
They are fully cooked, hot, sauced and ready to go. I found them at the Deli (near the rotisserie) and they are available in Bone-in Hot Wings or Boneless General Tso's flavors. I purchased them by the pound, but they are also available in a Pick 3 Bucket or a plated meal.
Of course, you cannot serve wings without a dip to cool things off. A lighter dip to serve with the wings is a plus too, because let's face it, hot wings are great, but not so figure friendly.

Since I grabbed the wings at the deli counter, I picked up everything else I needed for the dip while I was at Walmart too!
I garnished the plate with a little fresh parsley for a nice presentation!
The verdict was in...everyone loved the hot wings and the dip! And I loved that I didn't have to break a sweat getting this tailgating favorite ready to serve!
...Leaving me plenty of time to watch the game and toss around the football with the pooch!
What do you think? Do you embrace shortcuts like this when you plan and get ready for parties? (I know I do! Because sometimes it just makes sense!)

I love chicken wings - and having a deep fryer is good and bad - good because it holds the temperature and food isn't greasy, but bad because I can deep fry anything at a moments notice! When I entertain I do a kind of "semi-homemade" like the show - short cuts that help me not spend hours in the kitchen and actually enjoy my guests!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, a fryer would be a love/hate thing for me. I don't do frying very well, though. lol
