Need a quick and easy take along no bake dessert for your holiday festivities this weekend? Your search is over. These S'mores Krispie Treats were a hit with my family and they will be with yours too! Now you can enjoy S'mores all year round! You don't need a campfire to make this s'mores recipe. S'mores Krispie Treats are crispy graham cereal, soft marshmallows and milk chocolate all coated in gooey marshmallow. What's NOT to like?
Who doesn't love ooey, gooey s'mores? They are synonymous with summer, am I right? I love that you can now enjoy this iconic summer treat anytime of the year!
While I'm not a huge fan of traditional s'mores, I do love the flavor combination of milk chocolate, graham, and marshmallow. That's why I'm always on the look out for ways to get those flavors untraditionally, like in these S'mores bars! Let me just say, a box of Golden Graham cereal I had in the pantry was my inspiration...and then it just exploded from there!
How do you make S'mores Krispie Treats?
This simple no bake recipe is a snap to make. Melt the butter, stir in the marshmallows until they melt. Mix in the cereal and other mix in ingredients and press into a prepared pan.
What should be a simple mix and go recipe always seems to give me woes. Maybe I over think the whole thing. I seriously do not know what my issue is. However, when I made this recipe, these S'mores Krispie Treats came out perfect the first time.
Seriously good.
And I didn't screw them up! That's how easy this recipe is!
A word of caution: When you make S'mores Krispie treats, you've got to work quick! You will find when the pips meet the warm marshmallow coating, they start to melt FAST!
What is a pip you ask? According to Hershey's® a pip is what the breakable sections of the Hershey Milk Chocolate bar are called. I may have overworked a few pips into the treats when I added them, but if you are quick, you can get them in there without much melting happening!

To cut these into bars, I just sprayed a glass 13" x 9" casserole pan with cooking spray, then lifted the entire thing out of the pan with a spatula and then cut into pieces on a cutting board. But you could also use some parchment to make a sling to allow for easy removal too.
These krispie treats are loved by kids and adults alike! My crew gobbled them up the night I made them...so I guess I'll be making another batch for this weekend!
Feel free to customize this recipe to whatever flavors suite you! Add in peanut butter or use peanut butter cups in place of the pips! The choice is yours.

Chocolate and marshmallows.. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteA really yummy combo, right? Thanks Medeja!!
DeleteSo yummy- is there any combination better than graham, chocolate, and marshmallows? I think not. Golden Grahams are pretty much my favorite sweet cereal of all time!
ReplyDeleteI never buy Golden Grahams, but thought they would work well with this recipe stepping in for the graham crackers...and they did. The cereal itself didn't taste too sweet either! Very good. Thanks for visiting Nora!!
DeleteI make this with Cinnamon Life Crunch and also Hershey bar with almonds. The cinnamon flavor with the chocolate is so yummy.
DeleteThat sounds delicious!!
DeleteYeah, I need those. Like right now! And may I just say, "Pip pip!"
ReplyDeleteYes you may! haha Thanks Dorothy! :)
DeleteUh, Yummy! AND I have never heard of pips before. Pretty cool lol
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! I'm going to have to make this yummy recipe. Great way to kick of the summer season!
ReplyDeleteThese sound absolutely amazing. I love how inventive you were with the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my new favorite desserts! AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteMy kids will absolutely love these. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a classic! I used to love making this using Golden Grahams cereal- so yummy! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these!!! They would be a favorite snack at our house!!
ReplyDeleteI made this recipe the very evening after I read your blog. I've made it several time since. The second time I added in one cup of roasted and salted peanuts. It took this already awesome snack over the top. Thanks Renee for a wonderful treat.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for the review Candice! I'm so very glad you enjoyed them and I LOVE the addition of the peanuts!!! I'm going to have to try that next time too!!!
DeleteI made these last night. Amazing! We all loved them. I am going to link to your recipe in my blog because my friends are asking about them. :D Thanks Renee!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your review! Glad you enjoyed them!
DeleteI absolutely love these. So much that I used them as my favorite s'mores recipe for national s'mores day today on my blog! this blog post is actually my very first one! I did write a disclaimer stating that this was not my recipe, I did also create a link to this page and encouraged my readers to look into your recipe!
ReplyDeleteThank you and congrats on your new blog!
DeleteIs it easy to make a double batch of these? I need two pans
ReplyDeleteYes! I think you could.
DeleteWould it be easier to freeze the pips so they won't start melting so fast? I'm going to whip up a batch for my brother to take to his coworkers...otherwise known as the Plague of Locusts. They devour goodies in a flash.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it, but I bet that would def help with the melt. Hope you like them!
Deletei add some peanut butter morsels, too. you can never go wrong.
ReplyDeleteI love your addition of PB morsels! What a great idea!
DeleteHow do you make it so the cereal doesn't get soggy? I like it to stay crisp.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you can keep the cereal crisp.
DeleteI'm not sure it's possible to keep the cereal crisp, because the marshmallow will always soften it. Just like in any Krispy treat recipe.
ReplyDeleteI've made this recipe now - both with wonderful results! The first time was for a swim meet concession sale (they went so fast!). This time, to Girl Scout camp (we are likely to be rained-out of campfires!) Such a hit!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your candid review! I'm so glad you enjoy these!
DeleteSaved as a favorite, I really like your blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
