It really doesn't get any easier or more delicious than this simple recipe for deliciously sweet and salty Maple Syrup Glazed Walnuts! Two ingredients (three if you count salt!) and made entirely on the stove top. These make an amazing snack or a great addition to things like salads, oatmeal and yogurt parfaits.
Walnuts are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, are full of antioxidants to help ward off cancers and are packed with protein. They are one of nature's most healthy foods and they make a great snack!
Making these glazed walnuts could not be any easier. You start by pouring the pure maple syrup over the nuts in a small skillet. Next add salt and stir over medium heat. Make sure you are using PURE maple syrup! (I buy mine from Costco in a big jug!)
Cook the walnuts, pure maple syrup and salt until it becomes thick and bubbly, then cook for another 3- 5 minutes after that.
Pour the nuts onto a slipat lined baking sheet and allow to cool.
These walnuts are so delicious. Sweet and salty. The perfect little snack.
Take a few minutes to cook up some of these treats for yourself this week, but save a handful for later in the week to use in a recipe I am going to share for a wonderful yogurt parfait that uses these little guys in it! It's one you won't want to miss!
What do you think is the best way to enjoy these tasty treats? Out of hand or in a recipe?
